FAQs

What is the Leith Walk Police Box?

The former policebox at Croall Place is on Leith walk  - one of Edinburgh’s busiest streets. The box is a pop up space with flexible and affordable rental. At peak times over 150 people an hour pass this spot on foot, even with the tram works going on.  Many more pass on the buses. Leith has a very mixed demographic - currently undergoing gentrification, it is a socially and culturally diverse area.  It’s an area proud of its own identity and sense of community.

At LWPB, we aim to help support entrepreneurs, creatives, educators, charities and campaigners to get their great ideas out into the world.   We can also help with social media and publicity.  The box has hosted art and history exhibitions, a 2 seater cinema and food start-ups.

Accessibilty

We are on the street therefore no issues with steps or lifts to navigate.

COVID19 - Social distancing and hygiene measures

We will have deep cleaned frequently touched surfaces within the box prior to your pop up. There are several tables that can be used to maintain a 2m distance.  We have an internal and external sink, soap and hand towels for hand-washing.  We supply clean cloths and spray disinfectant. You will need to bring your own supply of hand sanitiser.  You will also need to bring your own signage relating to social distancing and hygiene.  Your staff should already be aware of what measures are required to maintain hygiene (ie frequently washing hands and sanitising items)  and how they will keep social distancing between themselves and between groups of customers/visitors to the box.
