What IS the Leith Walk Police Box?
In 2012 this former Edinburgh police box failed its intergalactic MOT and was abandoned on Leith Walk
The Leith Walk Police Box* is now a POP-UP space. (A pop-up is a short-term flexible let.) You can let our centrally located space for as little as 4 hours. We support budding entrepreneurs, foodies, charities, campaigners, creatives and community groups. Our rates are extremely affordable and our let times are flexible. In these challenging times, outdoors is safest for face-to-face contact. Using the box is a great way to access prime retail space without a huge commitment, complicated leases or cost. What can you do
at the police box?
Pop-up sales
Food. Jewellery. Art. Books. Clothing. The possibilities are endless. We can configure the space to suit your needs and the ever-changing Edinburgh weather.
Community engagement
Fundraising. Petitions. Community awareness and engagement. Your public is right there, walking up and down Leith Walk, one of Edinburgh’s busiest streets. You are there with them and can talk with them in a COVID19-compliant outdoor space.
Tiny exhibitions and shows
A small cinema. A pocket-sized festival venue. A petite opera. A mini gallery. The Police Box is an infinitely flexible space with facilities for hosting small-scale happenings where people can see and get drawn into the action.

Hobz was around before I had my first pop-up at the Leith Walk Police Box, but the Bakery would be nowhere near to what it is today without the amazing opportunity the Box provided. It’s a perfect place to test a business concept and gather customers before taking the plunge and opening a brick and mortar. Monty’s help was invaluable. Hobz traded at the Police Box for about a year, but we instantly realised in the first half of 2021 that Leith would be our permanent home. All because of the Leith Walk Police Box!
