Sept ’18 AlbaScience, TOA mini cinema, Doors Open

We have got a really exciting month of very different pop ups for you here at Leith walk policebox.

Alba Science are an Edinburgh based company who conduct trials for a variety of everyday products.  They are recruiting volunteers for a wide range of trials.  Come and meet the team on Thursday 6th Sept and various other dates in September.  Check Facebook for dates and times.  @leithwalkpolicebox  or contact recruitment@albavolunteers.com or call 0800 756 1046 for more details.

Take One Action is an inspiring film festival 12-23rd Sept, taking place across Scotland, that will make you think about environmental and social issues and want to do something about it.  In the packed schedule there is a bijou 2 seater cinema at Leith walk policebox which will be showing short films. The policebox cinema is free on the afternoons of 15, 16, 22 and 23rd Sept but must be booked at www.takeoneaction.org .

Invisible Edinburgh run walking tours with a difference.  Some of their guides have experienced homelessness and you will see Edinburgh through their eyes.  Every last Saturday afternoon of the month at the box they provide free services to those who are experiencing homelessness.  They include haircuts from the Street Barber, foot examinations from Queen Margaret Uni podiatry services and new donated toilietries, new underwear provided by Socks for the Streets.

Out of the Blueprint are a eco-friendly design and print enterprise based at The Drill Hall on Dalmeny Street.  They designed our beautiful logo (if we say so ourselves) and flyers. They also host Print Jam each month to encourage young people into design and printing.  Come and see what they are up to as they showcase some of their work at the box on Sat 29th Sept morning

Finally it’s Doors Open on the afternoon of Sunday 30th September where you can speak to a retired officer and learn what it was like to work out of the policeboxes.  A unique opportunity.  Book your space at hello@leithwalkpolicebox.com
