The Wee Museum

16-20 June 2014

During Leith Festival 2014, the box became a ‘Wee Museum’. Artist Johnny Gailey working with P3 pupils from Victoria Primary School, Newhaven created a display ‘The Disappearing Sea’ which was exhibited in the Police Box.

Over the course of three months, Johnny had worked with the pupils investigating the disappearance of the sea from Newhaven. The research involved field work, making rubbings on the breakwater, printmaking, photographic research, making stones and finally constructing an oil rig. As a result of his research, Johnny is looking for anyone who may have information about the Motherwell Bridge Company.
